What is Reiki?

A therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient's body to facilitate the patient's process of healing. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual or supernatural) and "ki" (vital energy).

Can Reiki be harmful?

The energy of Reiki is the healing light from The Universe, so it is not dangerous. Reiki is used to open the chakras and energy field. Reiki cannot cause harm to the receiver or the practitioner and can complement any form of treatment.

Is Reiki suitable for babies and children?

Babies can benefit greatly from Reiki treatments, and so do their families. Reiki comforts babies to reduce crying and fussing in a way that quiets the house and calms distraught parents. Simply watching a baby relax under the touch of Reiki can soothe the entire family. 

Are there any side effects?

While there are no harmful side effects from Reiki, some practitioners acknowledge the possibility of patients experiencing short-term upset stomach, light-headedness or fatigue.

How does Reiki work?

In Reiki, the practitioner transfers energy by placing their hands over or on the patient, improving the flow of energy around the body. Reiki can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness. Reiki has been around for thousands of years.

Where will the treatment take place?

In person treatments will take place in a treatment room at Sadhana Yoga Centre in Battersea. For distance treatments clients are usually at home.

How does distance Reiki work?

Distance Reiki Healing sessions can be just as effective as face-to-face sessions. Particularly useful for those who may be hindered due to time, distance or illness. A distance Reiki Healing session is conducted remotely, during the session the Reiki Healing energy is channelled to the recipient, assisting in the release of blockages, heavy energy, stress & anxiety. It is recommended that you find a quiet, comfortable place to lie down for the duration of the healing to get the most out of your session.

How does group distance Reiki work?

For the duration of the session I will channel Reiki Healing Energy collectively to everyone who has booked for that session.
